Rhinoceros 3D CAD is a free form design software - suitable for all types of designs including: industrial, marine, consumer products, cad cam, and rapid prototyping.
Rhino CAD is a great tool to take your idea and model it into a design which is ready for rendering, animation, analysis and manufacturing.
And the wide range of plug-ins available allow for unlimited customisation.
Rhino is fast, easy to learn and affordable.
The GUI is intuitive and there are tutorials to get you up and running quickly.
It is hard to find a better 3D modelling program for the price.
Rhino 3D cad allows you to:
- Free form 3D model ideas accurately. Any shape, any model you can think of.
- 2D drafting and documentation
- Drive laser, plasma and water jet cutters
- Translate NURBS curves, surfaces and solids.
- Customize to suit your needs with plug-ins
RhinoCAD:
- Is Very Accurate
- Allows user control of continuity & units
- Does not have the limitations found in older computer aided design products
- Smooth Surfacing
-
Is Smooth Surfacing Important To You?
Do you design smooth free form surfaces for example reflective surfaces, airfoils, hydrofoil or lenses? Rhino CAD provides high end surface modelling capability. Continuity is where curvature change is matched across a seam. Rhino has tools to allow accurate curvature matching.

How Accurate Is Rhino?
Rhino is a free form modeller that is more precise than most other CAD software. Why? Rhino stores its 3D models in Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS). These are mathematical representations of 3D geometry that can precisely draw any shape; from a 2D outline to a difficult 3D free form surface or solid. NURBS is accurate and flexible and can be used for design, engineering simulation and manufacturing. This is what is needed for demanding free form modelling. And Rhino’s implementation of NURBS is one of the most robust available in the market place today.

Great Plugins Available From LEAP
Rhino is open to third party developers and some of the great plug-ins are:
Flamingo adds radiosity rendering, raytrace and virtual reality to Rhino.More about Flamingo.
Bongo™ - Professional animation tools
Bongo brings professional animation to Rhino 3D. - Uses keyframe tools found in most top animation packages.
- Animates moving, scaling, and rotating Rhino objects without exporting.
- Use drag & drop to edit objects and viewport animations
- Real time preview of animations inside Rhino
- Render straight to an animation file using any Rhino renderer including wireframe, openGL, render preview, render, TreeFrog, Flamingo and Penguin.
- Demonstrate moving objects using real-time playback
Penguin brings conceptual illustration, sketch and cartoonnon-photometric scan line renderer capability to Rhino.
With Penguin you can create stylized images of your models with an artistic look.
