




























FLOWMASTER is a widely used 1-D network fluid flow solver that allows engineers to analyse a comprehensive range of engineering problems. Fluid networks of almost any size or complexity can be analysed rapidly and accurately in order to establish design integrity. FLOWMASTER is a single integrated system capable of solving steady state, transient, compressible (gas) flow, fluid power and heat transfer problems. FLOWMASTER, developed by Flowmaster International Ltd., is sold and used world wide.
Using FLOWMASTER, engineers are able to concentrate on the engineering problem to produce the best designs. Whether they are designing automotive cooling systems, fuel feed systems for power stations or water pipelines (to avoid problems such as water hammer), FLOWMASTER allows engineers to carry out accurate pressure, temperature and flow analysis from a position of knowledge, and rapidly achieve an optimised design. This cuts production costs and improves product quality. Additionally, when engineers have greater confidence in their designs, costly and time consuming prototyping and rig testing can often be greatly reduced.
Systems are quickly modelled with pre-defined components representing physical elements - such as pipes, pumps and valves - as well as user-defined external component models - programmed in FORTRAN or C. For dynamic systems, control signals may be provided by with pre-defined controllers, user-defined controllers - programmed in VB Script or JavaScript or external control software. If required, virtual prototypes of entire systems can be constructed via links to other CAE software including multi-body dynamics, 3-D computational fluid dynamics, controls, controller code generation, simulators and others.
