Yes. PTC has many customers that have successfully implemented Windchill (with MS SQL Server) managing massive assemblies with 50,000 or more components.
I'm currently using Windchill with Oracle database. Is there a migration path from Oracle to MS SQL server database?
Yes. PTC provides a tool to migrate a WIndchill Oracle-based system to a Windchill SQL Server-based system. A migration process uses Microsoft's SSMA tool would be provided by PTC.
The migration process can be used by existing Windchill PDMLink customers or Pro/Intralink 3.x customers who are migrating to Windchill.
