ANSYS DesignXplorer

Successful design comes from connecting the dots between the design specification and the design variables. Typically, the challenge faced by designers comes from how to assess and prioritize the effect of the numerous design variables on each design specification, and how to balance each design specification such that the performance is well-rounded and not skewed.

  •  Are you faced with a large pool of design variables for your products?
  •  Is ensuring high quality and optimal performance important?

Analysis

ANSYS DesignXplorer will give you insightful information regarding the influence of each option, and allow you to make the right decision in a timely fashion that brings out the best performance from the most reliable product.

ANSYS DesignXplorer provides an easy and robust solution to designers in industries, such as automotive and aerospace, that require high quality and performance assurance.

Some of the questions designers like to use ANSYS DesignXplorer to answer are:

  • How will the design perform with modified geometry?
  • How will the design perform under different environments? Such as changing load (magnitude, direction, and cycle)?
  • How can the design be minimized for defects and variability?
  • How can the design be optimized for a specific task? Such as load bearing?
  • How can the design be balanced for a multitude of different tasks (weight, load bearing, cost etc)?

ANSYS DesignXplorer can answer all the above through either a deterministic or probabilistic analysis. A deterministic analysis can let the designer scan through the design envelope and locate the Pareto front (optimal front) in a multi-objective optimization routine. The probabilistic analysis will provide information on the reliability of the design from a production management view, and rate the quality of the product based on material, tooling, and manufacturing variations. Together, ANSYS DesignXplorer gives businesses the edge over their competitors in terms of performance and quality.

Workbench Integration

Working with ANSYS DesignXplorer is easy and intuitive, thanks to its seamless integration with ANSYS Workbench. Attachment of ANSYS DesignXplorer to an existing FEA analysis is straightforward and simple, and ANSYS DesignXplorer automatically collects all design parameters that were created throughout every phase of the analysis, from geometry creation in ANSYS DesignModeler to analysis in ANSYS Mechanical. In addition, ANSYS DesignXplorer has its own internal algorithm that can locate the Pareto front in the most efficient fashion by smart seeding the design points.
