Thermal
With ANSYS Professional NLT, the user can simulate the temperature change of the structure/product over dynamically varying temperature environments (i.e a transient thermal analysis). Based on the results from the temperature profile and heat flux profile, the user is equipped with the information to improve the thermal handling capability of the structure by treating high thermal spots or attenuate thermal variation via placing radiation fins at optimal locations or enlarging convection surfaces.

Thermal - mechanical
With ANSYS Professional NLT, it is easy to conduct multi-disciplinary analysis across the thermal - mechanical field. The thermal modules are seamlessly integrated with the structural modules to facilitate the coupled solution. The temperature profile from the thermal module is transferred to the structural module, and based on the temperature field and the material thermal expansion coefficient, the thermal load is calculated in the background. The resulting stress and strain from the analysis will aid the designer in improving the load handling capability of the structure as well as prolonging the life cycle.
