ANSYS Structural software addresses the unique requirements of pure structural simulations without the need for extraneous tools. The product delivers all the power of nonlinear structural capabilities — as well as all linear capabilities — to deliver high-quality, reliable structural simulation results.
ANSYS Structural software offers almost all of structural nonlinear capabilities in all the areas of the structural simulations as listed below:
Analysis Types
- Static & Dynamics & Advanced
- Non-linear material modeling
- Linear and Non-linear contact modeling
The animation below is a good example of complex nonlinear behaviour, where the delamination is occurring due to the normal separation of the layers. ANSYS Structural software allows Cohesive Zone Modeling, where the normal and shear separation values can be included in the solution. These capabilities enable the user to simulate complex real physical environments with high fidelity and can predict the behaviour of the structural system more precisely. We provide 2 day structural nonlinearity training courses covering basic to intermediate nonlinearities, specifically aimed at new users., We also offer Advanced nonlinear analysis training tailored to suit customer specific non-linear applications. Please contact us for training course information, software and consulting prices or for any discussion on your simulation requirements.
Another example problem demonstrates the use of rezoning in a 3-D large-deformation problem. In large-deformation analyses (such as rolling, forging, and extrusions), elements are subject to excessive deformation, which can eventually cause the analysis to terminate. In most cases, it is possible to re-mesh the model at the regions where deformed elements are present. Rezoning offers several options for repairing a distorted mesh at any point before the analysis diverges. After the mesh has been repaired, the analysis can resume from that point and continue to completion.
“Our customers want to buy state-of-the-art turbines that have proven technology and are able to run 20 years without any major problems. To achieve such strong structural components, ANSYS is very important for us.”
