Composite PrepPost

ANSYS Composite PrepPost is an ANSYS product that is tailored for setting up composite analysis as well as post-processing. It can either operate independently or be started inside ANSYS Mechanical. The intuitive GUI in Composite PrepPost allows the user to efficiently define a wide range of composite settings to setup the FEA, such as material properties, orientation, lay up order and co-ordinate systems. The simulation is then subsequently solved in ANSYS Mechanical using the APDL solver, and the results are bought back to Composite PrepPost for analysis and interpretation, where the software provides an array of parameters and failure criteria, along with the flexibility of preparing the results on the global level, or down to a specific layer.

 

ANSYS Composite PrepPost provides a comprehensive failure report that includes:

  • Standard stress and strain failure
  • Advanced failure theory such as Puck, Hashin, Cuntze
  • Interlaminar shear, normal stresses for shells
  • Through thickness failure for shells
  • Combination of failure criteria provides failure envelope
  • 3D implementation of  main criteria (Tsai-Hill, Hashin, Puck etc.)
  • Has the freedom of user-defined criteria
