Course Overview

The enormous savings of Six Sigma efforts are well documented. The next generation on from this is Design For Six Sigma, which prevents quality problems at the design stage, rather than looking to achieve Six Sigma at the production stage. The unique Robust Design feature available in ANSYS combines Six Sigma design philosophies with leading optimisation capabilites. The principle of Robust Design can best be described as a shrink and shift technique. Shrink a product's performance variability (despite variations due to customer usage, material, manufacturing variation etc) and shift the performance mean to a target value. You will see how Robust Design, something that previously took hours, days of weeks, can be achieved in less than 30 mouse clicks.
