In conjunction with RMIT University, in recent months LEAP has taken the opportunity at the 2019 Avalon Airshow and Australian Formula One Grand Prix to showcase the many benefits of Augmented Reality (AR).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Many of our customers, students and the general public were excited to experience an Augmented Reality experience at the Avalon Airshow showcasing a Simulation-based Digital Twin using a model of a PC-9 aircraft (same aircraft that has been used by the RAAF Roulettes aerobatics team for many years).<\/p>\n

LEAP was also on hand during the Airshow to explain how RMIT students created this immersive AR experience combining animated CAD, IoT and Simulation data using Vuforia Studio<\/a> and ThingWorx<\/a> integrating results from ANSYS<\/a> Multiphysics Simulations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the 2019 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, RMIT in conjunction with Ford Australia was showcasing the latest Ford Mustang in an interactive Augmented Reality experience \u2013 visitors had the opportunity to choose a Microsoft Hololens, an iPad or even their own smartphone.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The RMIT University<\/a> Tent (within GP Innovation Hub) gave F1 enthusiasts the chance to talk to the team from ATLAS – Innovation<\/a>, Ford Australia<\/a> and LEAP\u00a0to learn more about how this immersive AR experience was created. A common recurring theme at the event was the importance of STEM skills for the next generation of students – it was clear to everyone how AR will play multiple roles in the future workforce including design\/collaboration, customer engagement and service\/maintenance\/training.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
