It accounts for 7 to 10% of our revenue. We work directly with products on site adhering to strict safety standards and risk management processes on mining plants. ERX system uses no hammers whatsoever. It represents a step change in screening media, revolutionising our clients approach to safety in screen media maintenance.<\/p><p>The adaptive clamping evolution or ACE was born off the success of ERX in the field. Where ERX is the big brother, ACE is the little brother. Absolutely. Are they both operated without the use of any hammers? You bet you they are. Are both our proprietary polyurethane blends from our Berrinba facility? Yes. Can we adapt ACE and ERX to most modern screens? We have the technology. We can do it. Can both systems withstand a wide variety of mining applications? They absolutely can. The kicker though, both systems have a clamping force over 1000 kilos? ERX does that ACE is suited to slightly more lighter applications that don&#8217;t require such high sheer forces. So why wouldn&#8217;t you use ERX everywhere? Well, it depends on the application. The ERX system is the heaviest duty clipping system that we offer, and it&#8217;s made to handle the harshest mining applications. All our design is rooted in problem solving. The clients send the sales team a problem &#8211; sales team engages the relevant product departments for a solution. The SMEs or the subject matter experts look at the problem from a holistic standpoint. After reviewing the process for implications of product design and utilising our engineering tools at our exposure, we execute the delivery.<\/p><p>The digital engineering the first step of our digital engineering catalogue is Windchill. Windchill is a product life cycle management software that Multotec employs to ensure the data integrity of our drawing stays within set parameters. Windchill allows SMEs to make non-intrusive notation on engineering drawings without the risk of uncontrolled alterations. Windchill is used by the design team to categorise and file our engineering design data. It also is used by SMEs and the product teams to collaborate on engineering designs prior to the designs making a \u201cpen and paper\u201d. When reviewing a model, we can look at all the related subjects within that model. We can see what assemblies that model is currently used in. We can view in a view port and through one of the other software packages that we use (ThingWorx Navigate or Creo View), we can see the substructure and then we can load it up into a non-intrusive or a non-permanent software where the subject matter experts can view and interact with the model and make notes.<\/p><p>The team&#8217;s allowed to interact with the model, make expansions, make screenshots, make notes on it. The critical part of why we use Windchill is it allows the design team to hold the responsibility of the data integrity, whilst allowing for the product team to make engineering review changes on the product on the fly. Is the frame design strong enough to handle the forces of the application? When we&#8217;re dealing with large iron ore that has an SG between 3.3 and 5.3, these large boulders will exert huge amounts of force through our product. We need to know without doubt that the structure of our products can withstand these forces. We use Ansys simulation to qualify these tests. Ansys Mechanical is utilised in tandem with Ansys Rocky to qualify our products before they make it out into the field.<\/p><p>Discrete Element Modelling with Ansys Rocky is the next and most critical part of our design process, allowing our engineers to simulate real world scenarios and test the integrity of our products, prior to signing off on their designs. When allowed the time, (depending on your machine\u2019s power, simulations can take up to two weeks to finish.) Our use of discrete element (DEM) or finite element analysis (FEA) simulation can be the difference between a panel withstanding the application or falling short of a client&#8217;s expectations. Utilising the material characteristics of our proprietary polyurethane and rubber blends, we&#8217;re able to simulate wear patterns to determine whether our material selection is adequate for the duty of the application. These three critical components of our SAAS (Software as a Service) platform are all supported by LEAP Australia.
