Webinar: Multiphysics Simulations using Rocky and Ansys

May 6, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Presented by Marcus Reis – Vice President and Global Business Development of Rocky DEM at Engineering Simulation and Scientific Software (ESSS)

LEAP Australia is pleased to announce that guest speaker Marcus Reis will be delivering a free live webinar on Wednesday, 6th May 2020 at 11:00am AEST.  We invite you to join us for this webinar which will provide an overview of the unique capabilities and new features of Rocky together with a focus on the ANSYS integration for simulations involving Multiphysics. Some industrial examples and customer case studies will be provided along with an update of new features in Rocky 4.3

Rocky is a powerful 3D Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) program that quickly and accurately simulates the granular flow behaviour of different shaped and sized particles using both GPU and CPU processing methods. A key feature of Rocky is its tight integration within the Ansys Workbench environment, enabling engineers to conduct both coupled structural (FEA-DEM) and fluid-flow (CFD-DEM) simulations using Rocky simulation data.

Who should attend?

As the presentation willfocus on Ansys CFD and FEA integration for Multiphysics simulations, the target audience includes both existing Ansys and Rocky users wanting to simulate systems where the interaction of particles, fluid flow and/or structural effects play an important role. Those who are generally interested in using DEM technology for their designs are also encouraged to attend.

Presenter Profile – Marcus Reis – ESSS Group

Since 1995, Marcus has been involved with several activities at ESSS (a Latin American pioneer company in the field of numerical simulation). He started as a software developer, but soon migrated to work with CFD consulting projects. Since then, he has built a team of 70 technical specialists working with several disciplines in the field of computational modeling (CFD, FEA, EMAG, MDO and DEM). He has been involved with more than 100 projects for key customers in its territory among several industries segments, ranging from automotive, appliances and aerospace to mining and oil & gas. In parallel he also has initiated and developed the marketing and sales division of ESSS with a key focus on the global business development of Rocky DEM software. Marcus Reis has a M.Sc. and Mechanical Engineering degree from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he was involved with the research on numerical heat transfer for aerospace applications. He also holds an MBA degree from Fundação Dom Cabral, Brazil.
