The CFD tools used by our team allows designers to identify the source(s) of noise, (be it from aerodynamic vortices or fluid borne vibrations) and model its propagation in a gas or liquid media. Going further, the ANSYS suite also allows a user to take the noise generated from CFD and listen to it to gauge its quality.
Beyond identifying the dominant SPL frequencies and their sources, CFD can also identify the parameters driving the acoustic noise.
Reducing Acoustic Signatures
CFD was used to assess how the fan and the casing around the blades can be redesigned, to reduce the acoustic signal of an air conditioner.
Simulation allows engineers to assess the propagation and impact of niose from wind farm, railway lines and more onto the surrounding areas.
