Expert Insights: Materials Calibration for DEM modelling of Bulk Solids

This post summarises our recent live panel discussion on materials calibration for discrete element method (DEM) modelling of bulk solids where we had the privilege of hosting industry leaders Daniel Grasser, Consulting Engineer at Tundra Bulk Solids and Richard Elliott, Technical Director – Bulk Handling at Rockfield Technologies. They were joined by DEM specialists from LEAP: Angelo Christakakis, Application Engineer & Technical Lead – DEM as well as Josh Hately, Engineering Solutions Manager, who moderated the discussion.

Enhancing Materials Science education at the University of Auckland

The University of Auckland has been teaching materials science & engineering with Granta Edupack since 2015 as part of a commitment to use the latest technology to enhance their Materials Science education.
Read this recent interview with Dr. Josh Workman who used Granta EduPack as a Lecturer in Materials Engineering.

Tips on modelling non-Newtonian fluid viscosity

Many fluids we encounter in industry do not strain linearly with respect to viscous shear and are thus considered non-Newtonian. This post explores how to model non-Newtonian viscosity of fluids in ANSYS CFD, using blood as an example.
