Account Manager (Ansys Simulation Software Sales Engineer)

Summary / Role Purpose
Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Engineering / Physics.
Required onsite work location: Manly (NSW), Bentley (WA), or Eight Mile Plains (QLD).

The Account Manager (AM) will increase new and existing business by adapting ANSYS engineering simulation products and solutions into customers’ engineering environments and product development processes, ultimately helping customers develop new products (or simulation services) and improve existing products, services and processes. The AM is responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close within an assigned geographical territory, and/or specified named accounts and is responsible for maximizing sales profitability, growth, and account penetration. Assigned accounts are midsize and reside within a single territory. The AM is responsible for achieving sales quota, new business growth targets and selling the entire Ansys solution and services directly to end users.
A successful AM will be proactive, enthusiastic and eager to learn, collaborating with technical experts (internal and external) to achieve success. They will understand how to position the value and sell the following high priority products: Ansys Mechanical, Ansys LS-Dyna, Ansys Fluent, Ansys Rocky, Ansys OptiSlang. The AM creates and executes a strategy for assigned accounts, helping the customer understand the ongoing ROI from the Ansys solution. They maintain a deep pipeline of new business leading to consistent achievement of sales quota and growth targets.
The AM functions as a true partner to our customers by listening to their needs and developing a deep working knowledge of their goals, key business initiatives, technical challenges and infrastructure configurations to deliver an outstanding experience. The AM works closely with our specialists Ansys Application Engineers (AE’s) within the accounts to identify opportunities that will expand LEAP’s footprint, plan and prioritize the necessary technical activities to achieve the account growth plan. These activities span positioning of all Ansys products and include co-ordination with presales, technical support, consulting, training, as well as interfacing with the Ansys development and marketing teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs sales activities, establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and/or prospective customers
- Maintain renewal business and generate new business for an assigned geographic area, set of named accounts or product/service line to achieve or exceed revenue objectives.
- Creates and executes a strategy to grow usage by connecting the Ansys solutions to a customer metric, goal, challenge, KPI or priority.
- Create and conduct sales presentations that clearly present the value of company’s products/services through metrics and proof points while tying to the customer’s needs and differentiating from competition.
- Establishes relationships with business leaders and customer executives who can serve as business champions for Ansys.
- Coordinates sales effort as needed with marketing, account team, sales management, accounting, legal and technical services groups globally.
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers that represent maximum value to the customer and fair price for ANSYS; ensure that proposals address customer’s key issues, needs, and requirements.
- Create and maintain account plans for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
- Alert client to new or improved products/services and relays client feedback to product development staff.
- Research sources for developing prospective customers or expanding to new groups in existing customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Leverage trade shows and conventions; schedules training and seminars to enhance new business opportunities within current and prospective customer base.
- Completes administrative work including but not limited to quotation generation, order processing, delivery, acceptance inspection, NDA and other contract preparation.
- Maintain healthy pipeline to meet goals. Accurately enters data into CRM.
- Remain knowledgeable and keeps abreast of the company’s new and existing products/services to facilitate sales efforts.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Engineering / Physics
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+1
- Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys, nCode, Flownex, SDC Verifier software or knowledge of other commercial engineering numerical simulation software packages.
- Demonstrated understanding of Ansys products, technology and how these tools are used in a particular customer segment(s); ability to understand, represent and effectively communicate all technical activities associated with the account across all physics and product lines
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
- Project a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% – 50% of time
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and coordination with personal distributed across multiple global sites
Preferred/Ideal Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience as either an account manager or application engineer at a channel partner for Ansys or similar simulation software.
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
- 4 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives

Application Engineer – Windchill PLM

As a PTC Platinum Partner, we provide the full suite of PTC solutions: Creo (CAD/CAM/CAE) Windchill (PLM) ThingWorx (Industrial IoT) and Vuforia (Augmented Reality) and due to our rapidly growing Windchill customer base, we are looking for Windchill Application Engineers to join our PTC technical team.
The Role
Application Engineers are responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support to new and existing customers across ANZ. This can include:
- Working with the sales team to understand customer requirements, present live software demonstrations and conduct workshops/webinars to support sales & marketing activities.
- Performing software implementation services including scoping, system design, installation & configuration.
- Delivering standard and custom training classes.
- Providing on-site and remote technical support.
If you have experience with Windchill and looking to deepen your product knowledge and expand your knowledge and experience with other PTC products, then this is the job for you.
Experience & Skills
Experience
- Experience with Windchill is essential. You will have experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Core data management – CAD and Document management with Windchill.
- Business process optimisation – Change and configuration management, BOM management and transformation.
- Business administration – User access controls, workflows, type and attribute definitions.
- System administration – Installation and upgrades, integrations to other business systems (e.g. ERP)
- ThingWorx Navigate experience is desirable but not essential.
- Java programming experience is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience working in a software sales and/or support environment.
Skills
- Excellent understanding of computer systems and networks including cloud and on-premises virtualised environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Senior Application Engineer – CAD
The Company

As a PTC Platinum Partner, we provide a wide range of PTC solutions: Creo (CAD/CAM/CAE) Windchill (PLM) Codebeamer (ALM) and we are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join our PTC team. The location for this position is flexible, but will based in one of the LEAP offices in Australia.
The Role
Reporting to the PTC Technical Manager, Application Engineers in our PTC team are responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support to new and existing customers across ANZ. This will include:
- Working with the sales team to understand customer requirements, present live software demonstrations and conduct workshops/webinars to support sales & marketing activities.
- Performing software implementation services including installation & configuration.
- Delivering standard and custom training classes.
- Providing on-site and remote technical support for customers.
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will be expected to work on some or all the above tasks independently, or as part of a team.
Experience & Skills
Experience
- At least 5 years of recent experience with Creo Parametric.
- Knowledge of using Creo with Windchill is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in a software sales and/or support environment, ideally for a PTC Partner.
Skills
- Attention to detail and ability to understand technical information
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be a self-starter, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
