LEAP Australia and the Convergence Science Network recently hosted a seminar on Digitals Twins for Biomedical & Healthcare applications. An exciting panel of speakers from industry and academia came together to discuss how they are using state-of-the-art engineering simulation technology to help realise digital twins within the rapidly changing biomedical & healthcare industries.

Speakers included Stuart Knowles from Invetech, Vishesh Vashishtha from Leica Biosystems, Prof. David Fletcher from University of Sydney and LEAP Australia, and Assoc Professor Kiao Inthavong from RMIT University. Applications including patient-specific modelling of aneurysms, arterial grafts, heart valves, nasal/respiratory pathways and inhalers/drug delivery were discussed, as well as general use of simulation in the design and development of a range of medical devices.
